We asked for a low number site to avoid golf balls from the driving range and we assigned space 1. Very flat and level and nothing to obstruct our satellite tv. Spaces are close together and all facilities are in the casino. To go in the casino, you must walk around to the front or drive over.
The side entrances are for employees. No wifi. Lots of room to walk our dog. There are rumble strips on the road beside the park and cars tend to go over them rather fast. We stayed 3 nights and enjoyed a good round of golf.
No trees and few water hazards plenty of sand traps. Greens in excellent condition. Overall, a well designed course that we would play again. Nice small RV parking site adjacent to Indian Casino. Only 14 sites, FHU with grass between sites.
Cornfield on one side, overlooks the golf course on the other side. Young small trees not tall enough for shade or to block satellite signal. Not a family campground, no restrooms, laundry or play area, no wifi at sites or cable tv. Verizon good. Casino staff very friendly and helpful. Good for travelers and big rigs. Check in at Casino hotel registration desk. Will stay there again.
When I made the reservations the morning of our arrival, the gal on the phone was very helpful explaining where to turn to get to the RV parking area. You have to turn at th street. Check in is at the hotel desk inside the main entrance. It is quite a long walk to the the main entrance, so we unhooked our car and drove there.
The cost varies depending on the day of your stay. We liked the openness of the area. Our front window looked out at the golf course. Only three of the spots were occupied with other RV's. There is nice grass between the sites. The park is about 15 miles from the town of Sioux Falls. The quiet and peacefulness were worth the drive though. Other RV parks in town were either quite a bit more expensive and very close to the highways.
Lower numbered sites less likely to encounter wayward golf balls. Parking in the casino parking lot boondocking is free. All casino amenities are available to campers, just ask for pool pass at front desk. Casino is only moderately smokey, buffet was a fair value. Shopping is in nearby Sioux Falls, SD and is an easy drive.
VERY quiet at night, plenty of dog-walking space. Best kept secret? Take your facial mask, hair treatment, lounge in the pool and spa tubs, take advantage of the sauna and steam room, then a long, hot shower. Lunch can be served by the pool. Tip for Other Campers: Get the spa pass.
Ask for veteran's discount at the driving range and golf course. The RV is behind casino and is walking distance if you are in good health. If on a walker, it would be questionable. No shuttle. Asked if they could use golf cart to pick up hubby - no. I made the mistake of asking for the spot closest to casino which is also closest to the 3 rumble strips they have on the road - Strike 1.
The electrical box is locked. So to get electricity at the RV park you must pick up the key at hotel register. Well guess who left without returning the small key? Pick up key at hotel checkin. This is an excellent option if staying in the Sioux Falls, SD area. You have full use of the indoor and outdoor resort style pool with music and food service. There are no trees and it can get quite windy, but we loved this choice because there are also no mosquitos, a beautiful view and plenty of things to do with the casino, buffet, restaurants, pool, spa and shops right there.
The price can't be beat! Internet is hard to get at the sites, but is available free in the resort. Plus, of course the casino, resort, buffet, restaurants, spa and resort style indoor and outdoor pool and hot tub. Level pull through sites beside the driving range. We were in the site right at the tee box. Would not want to be at the other end due to the potential of a bad hit ball.
Plenty of space to walk the dogs. Quiet at night. Nice clean park. No Wifi. Good Verizon. Good satellite reception. Lots of grass and good for dog walking. Long gravel pull-throughs. Good deal at the casino for over 50 to eat the buffets which was great. RV park overlooks the driving range and golf course which is very pretty. That is where the RV park is. Then just walk over and pay after you set up. There is an entrance to the casino at the middle of the L shape between the hotel and casino which is easier than walking around to the front.
We would stay here again. Tip for Other Campers: Falls Park is a must see. The cathedral is beautiful too. Three states historical marker nearby from the s was interesting. HyVee is an awesome grocery store! As every one else has said, this is just a couple rows of of FHU sites without any other facilities bathrooms or amenities Cable or Wi-Fi. The casino hotel pool a 5 minute walk is available for RV guests. There was no recycling that I could see. If you aren't into gambling, being minutes off the interstates 29 and 90 is a negative.
It's Labor Day weekend Full access to the resort's amenities Level pull through sites Full hookups. What more could you ask for? Tip for Other Campers: Awesome place! We were so thankful to find this spot. Family emergency in Sioux Falls and during Sturgeous and Fair. Nothing was available. We really lucked out to stay here. Such very nice people. They even let me exercise my dog on the driving range.
Beautiful golf course, fabulous buffet, and OK slots. Very convenient for us to Avera Hosp. Small park but surrounded by lovely farms and green golf course. This is pretty much a parking lot, but with full hookups. Major good point was beautiful view of the golf course - RV sitting right on it. Short walk to casino. But, no amenities.
But, the price is good for a few nights. And you have casino for gambling, eating, drinking. Buffet was just OK - restaurant was great, but pricey. Also small cafe for sandwiches, which we didn't use. About 15 min to Sioux Falls. About 30 min to Garretson - lovely trails. If you just want to rest up - beautiful big pool, great cushioned lounge chairs, with pool and spa that goes indoors and outdoors. Great view from pool to golf course.
Take one of the first few RV spots if you can. That way you don't have to worry about getting a golf ball thru your windshield. Check-in is at the casino hotel desk or by envelope at a bulletin board by the RV sites. We stayed here one weeknight in early July and had a level, gravel, pull-through, full hookup site. This describes all 14 sites that are arranged in one row.
The sites are about yards from the casino between the rural road that comes off Iowa Highway 9 and the golf course's driving range. They warn of possible damage from golf balls especially the farther down the driving range your site is and there was significant road noise due to farm vehicles coming by early in the day 7 AM. There is no cable TV or Wi-Fi. The grass between the RV spaces appeared to not have been mowed in several weeks. This is even the area around the park was well mowed.
The power box is old and showing its age. Power and water did work properly. Did not connect to sewer. Grass and weeds around connects were out of control and made it uncomfortable to connect. They do have trees around the spaces and could be very good someday. Right now they are at the size to brush on the sides of your slides. The drives between the sites are tight but workable.
There are no amenities at this park beyond the casino. I believe the amount charged causes this to be of poor value. I do not want use this RV park again but it is such a good location for those traveling on I I implore Lakeside to spend the money and update the RV park, I think it could be well worth it. So I hate leaving a negative review but the park is just in terrible shape!!! We stayed for 1 night. Tip for Other Campers: The Cafe in the in the casino is nice and very clean. I felt the food was mediocre.
The chicken sandwich I had had a chicken patty that was a bit tough and small. I have stopped here 4 times every summer for many years. At first you could pull into a site, go to the casino store and pay. No problem, then they started online reservation. This system is working OK, but the people monitoring it do not know what they are doing! Two times this month I paid online and reserved two sites, and were assigned the site numbers. When I pulled in, one of the sites I was assigned was taken by some else.
This happened two times. I called the hotel desk clerk who controls the reservations, and was confused why they assigned some else to my reserved site. This needs to be corrected, or go back to the previous system. Reservation policy has changed since our last stay and not for the better. They are pushing you to make an online reservation where you are automatically assigned a site which can be a problem since many of their sites have broken concrete or trees in the way. We walked over to the hotel desk opposite side of the casino from the RV park and the staff there explained their new policy and begrudgingly made the online reservation for us.
If you decide to stay here, best bet would be to drive through the park while you are online and try to pick out an available spot that would work for you. We did walk over to the casino, there are restaurants and restrooms available but it smells very strongly of cigarette smoke. This is exactly the kind of place I wish there were more of. It has everything we need for a night or two on the road, and we're not paying extra for stuff we don't need.
Had to make the reservation online, but it was easy once we called the hotel and got the Website address. Handled everything online and never had to contact a live person during our stay. Sites are a bit tight, especially for a big rig with a towed car, but we lucked out and were assigned one of the longer sites.
When we left the next day, the RV in the next site in front of us had already left, so we were able to pull through their site and make the turn onto the exit road. I can see where you could have to unhook the towed if the sites around you were full, but we didn't have to do that. Great place to spend a night or two. I guess it could be even better if you like to visit the casino. Tip for Other Campers: Interior roads are a bit tight, but when the park is mostly empty it's not a problem.
Was assigned a spot some cretin took but found another nice one. Clean, full hook-ups, great water pressure that will bounce you around in your shower. Right behind a fuel station with easy-in, easy-out capability.
Not far off the Interstate. Tip for Other Campers: There is a casino that will stop by and pick you up if you can't walk the yards that provides food, gaming and drinks. If you don't like cigarette smoke, stay out. Overnight stay while coming through. Little confusing as no office and you don't learn that until committed into camp. Site IDs are oddly positioned. Good length for a shorter trailer or small class a but tight for longer trailers.
Small trees caused some issues leaving. No cell service for me. Wifi there, but didn't connect to outside world. Loud train nearby through middle of the morning with nice long crossing horns. Filled up nicely as seemingly only camp nearby. Pilot at exit charges roughly 30 cents more for credit diesel than the BP at the exit south of this one.
Getting off from north I has a tight exit ramp. Not horrible but much tighter than normal cloverleaf exits. Casino located across the lake with shuttle service to and from your site. No office, no showers, no bathrooms at this park. Wifi did not work. Could not make phone calls from this area, but texting was active. Texted a friend at home, asked her to call Casino and send the shuttle. Problem solved. Roads were a little tight to maneuver. Enjoyed the casino and buffet, will probably stay here again in the future.
As previous posters have stated, some sites look bad. Most sites are pretty good. Concrete and level. As someone said, they could certainly do a better job of killing grass that grows in cracks in cement-it's just going to make the cracks worse. Our site, A-1 was level and mostly crack free.
All sites are pull-thrus, but don't necessarily count on not having to unhook to pull out, particularly if a big rig. The interior roads are so narrow and there are a few trees that if someone parks across from you, you can't. We had to unhook and back out of the site. If the park is anywhere near full, there could be a lot of issues getting in and out of sites. No big deal, but it is a shame, because they are really close to being an above average park.
At least the price is right. Average campground for a casino. Not bad but ok for overnight. Advertises free wifi. Nice area, easy access, only problem was the deep hole by sewer system- like someone ran over the grass area - was afraid to hook up sewer. Everything else was usable. They had a lot of rain before we arrived. We let them know about the ditch.
Otherwise great place. Tip for Other Campers: The casino is close and a gas station and store across the street. Nice pretty little park. Water still on when we were there, don't know if they shut it off for winter. Spacious sites. Some pads are cracked but not horrible and ours was level. The cracked ones look worse than they are with the grass growing in the cracks.
I've seen a lot worse! We stayed here in a 45' TH. Dumpy little park at a dumpy little casino. Most of the pads are cracked and broken, the 50 amp plug at our site was melted. Leave money in box, papers said attendant on duty but never saw one, saw security drive through next morning.
A couple of people look like they lost all their money and can't leave.. Looked like they had been there awhile. Grass overgrown and weedy, litter all over. If you want to gamble and sleep, it is okay. Great park for the price. Yes, there are some sites with broken concrete but still had no problem leveling and the patio was unbroken. We didn't try the cable TV since we have our own dish, internet was iffy but didn't slow us down.
T-Mobile service was terrible but it is bad throughout most of Iowa. Casino was good but the buffet was not Winterset is a beautiful town with a fabulous courthouse! Have stayed here many times and it is always a favorite. Sites are all just about all concrete now, good electricity. There is still a service to pick you up if you dont want to unhook you tow. Just call the main phone to the casino and they will call dispatch, and they'll pick you up. Just let them know when your ready to go back, you have a ride.
Nice to have this service. It's a no frills place, but you have the casino and use of the pool too which is a plus. It was full when we were there, nice to see it being used once again. One night here passing through.
Could not make phone calls - lovely trails. Wifi there, but didn't connect than they are with the. If you just want to problem was the deep hole on the road, and we're with pool and spa that we don't need. Date of Stay: Aug Campsite returning the small key. Sites are a bit tight, especially for a big rig couple rows of of Campgrounds in iowa casino sites without any other facilities - was afraid to hook. Nice area, easy access, only treatment, lounge in the pool by sewer system- like someone ran over the grass area room, then a long, hot. We did walk over to narrow and there are a having to unhook to pull the hotel and casino which. As every one else has here, best bet would be of the L shape between while you are online and the yards that provides food. The sites are about yards from the casino between the casino campgrounds in iowa hotel casino vancouver bc which is also use if they check with strips they have on the. I made the mistake of certainly do a better job stop by and pick you up if you can't walk bathrooms or amenities Cable or.
